The honest fine print
No tool can see the real switch.
YouTube publishes no definitive monetization status for other people's channels — not on the channel page, not in any public API. Any checker claiming 100% certainty is guessing. What can be checked is how a channel measures against the published Partner Program requirements: a channel under 500 subscribers cannot be in YPP at all, while one over 1,000 subscribers with real watch time almost certainly is.
Watch hours are private — only the owner sees them in YouTube Studio — so the verdict is a multi-signal assessment, not a certificate. Use it for competitor research and niche analysis, not as proof of anyone's revenue.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
How do you check if a YouTube channel is monetized?
YouTube publishes no definitive monetization status for other people's channels — not on the page and not in any public API. This tool runs a multi-signal assessment on public data: subscriber count against the published Partner Program thresholds, plus channel signals. Only the owner sees the real status in YouTube Studio.
What links can I paste?
Channel links (youtube.com/@handle, youtube.com/channel/..., /c/..., /user/...) and video links (youtube.com/watch, youtu.be, Shorts). For a video link, the tool finds the video's channel and checks that.
What are the YouTube Partner Program requirements?
1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months, or 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days. A lower fan-funding tier opens at 500 subscribers. You also need 2-step verification, no active Community Guidelines strikes, and to follow YouTube's monetization policies.
If a video shows ads, is the channel monetized?
Not necessarily. Since November 2020 YouTube can run ads on videos from channels that are not in the Partner Program — the creator earns nothing from those ads. Ads alone prove nothing, which is why this tool checks thresholds and signals instead of ad sightings.
